What Do I Really Need To Make It As A Dancer?

If there is one thing that is true about me, it is that I am a dancer. A dancer should be able to engage his or her audience before he/she takes off one bit of clothing. I have seen it all. Dancers that work there ass off for a lil bit of tips, dancers that try to take other clients because the client is a big tipper, Dancers that feel the sluttier they are on stage the more tips they will get and last but not least, the dancer that gets on my last nerves is the Lazy Dancer.

What Is A Lazy Dancer?
The lazy dancer expects to recieve tips without doing the work. They expect the traffic to be there and they expect the tips to be great even though the only thing this dancer has contributes is his/her body. This dancers usually goes from club to club hoping to catch a tip somewhere. Never committing truly to any one place and not making any type of money. If this dancer sounds like you then stop! Just stop and listen to my words

5 Tips On Building A Stronger Client Base
I have to admit when I walk into a club/lounge I do check the traffic but then I talk to the owner or managers. It's not about the traffic always. I know I worked for a club that the girls have given up on, was the only girl working, a client came in and that day I made 15,000L and I am going to share some of my secrets with you.

1. Get To Know The VIPS
The VIPS are the heart of the club. If you don't know the audience then you will never make it as a dancer in that club. Some clubs are themed geared like Goth or Vamp. Some Clubs have games like Slingo but always include dancers in their club. Getting to know the VIPS, their wants and needs will allow you to work your emotes better and to personalize them. Learn Rez Dates, Greet each and every person that wals through that door and keep in mind that they are spending their real money. Would you want to spend your money on a product that is half-ass, I would say no. If you did you would return it and want your money back.

2. Get Personal
Tom walks in with a new tat. He is shirtless to show off his arms and you know that he want to be acknowledge. Second Life is a unique place where people spend tons of lindens on their avi. Sometimes showing that you know their is something different going on and acknowledging it is all it takes to make a VIP feel like a million bucks. Here is my

example:
=Hey Tom nice tats...where did you get them? Tom smiles and says just got them today at Dreams...end of convo=
or
=Dream Mint smiles at Tom her eyes glowing from the playfullness she feels burning inside...she feels the need to touch Tom's new tats so with one finger she traces around the image of the skull, loving the feel of his new tattoo against her hand she wants more and ask Tom Can I touch It some more?....=
=Toms smiles...Yes Dream, all you want....=
=Dream glides her finger up his arm the colors of the tat are dancing againt her the tips of her fingershe looks into Toms eyes with passion and says..mmmm it feels so good I love tats=

Do you see the difference. Connect with the client then draw the client in the the client will decide if he or she wants to honor you with a tip.

3. Tag and Bag
I was a dancer at Sugar Walls for awhile and really loved working there. Carissa is awesome and she really tries to take dancers to the next level. Every dancer was told that Tagging was crucial and it is. We all visit different places on Second Life be it a hair store or a beach we all go somewhere. Carissa suggust that you take some time to build your clients list. Meet people, talk up the club offer a friend invite then offer a group invite. She says the conversation goes a lil like this

Guy: wow you are gorgeous. I like your avi
You: thank you very much. what do you like the most?
Guy: Nice skin, nice shape. what are you doing here
You: That is very kind of you. I'm just shopping for shoes and you
Guy: The same. Where are some of the places you like to hange out at (and you know we all get this question and right here is an oppurtunity to build your client base.)
You: I hang out at a lot of places. Right now I currently work at Dreams you should come. It's an awesome place to hang out with lots of fun people(talk the club up)
Guy: Sounds Good but I don't hang out at sex clubs
You: Dreams Is more then a sex club but a social lounge where people come to hang out. I work as an entertainer so if you come I'm sure you will enjoy yourself.

Your next steps will be to ask him/her if it is okay to send a friend invite if he/she says yes then offer a tag to the club so that he/she can know when you are working and be updated on events.

Your job is to be social and know people as a dancer. So really building your client base is your first step and tagging and bagging helps you to do that.

4. Conferences & Groups
Groups and conferences are another important way to market yourselfand to build your client base. I saw that conferences and groups are the twitter and facebook of Second Life.
In another blog I will teach you how to start a conference or a group but right now is not the time.

The most common mistake I see with the two is that people only use them to say I'm working and I want you to come or they tp you to death and that is annoying as hell. I use conferences to not only announce when I am working but to talk about everything under the sun. Sure promote your business (which as a dancer is you) but also offer contest like the next person to tp in will get a free ten minute lapdance from me. I have had panty hunts and quizzes, trivia for my group members and they loved it. They saw that I enjoyed them as well as them enjoying me. It was a two way street. Make a group but add benefits to being in that group.

5. Quiet Club=Send Notices but Stop Complaining
No one wants to come to a dead club. If you are sending notices that say Two sexy girls dncing for you but no one is here where are you? I wouldn't come. That notice is trash. Keep your notices short, sexy and inviting meaning positive. If you want clients to come stop complaing or whining in your notice. Try this

Two sexy girls dancing on the pole. I'm loving the way Cindy's body is feeling against my skin, anyone want to come out to play?

short and inviting then short a quick group IM with a slurl.Quick easy and suggesttive not whiny and nagging.

I hope these tips help in your pursuit of building a stronger client base. Just remember it's as much or as little as you put into it that you will get in return. Love where you work and enjoy people. Keep grinding

Emoting: Let's Show Some Emotions

Trying Out The Diamond Pole Dhamieon Built
Emoting On Second Life is crucial. Yes You Can IM people and chat away but to really interact you have to emote.

What Is Emoting?
Emoting is showing an emotion by using action words to describe what you are doing or wanting to do to the person you are chatting with.

For example
In this picture I am dancing on an exclusive Dreams Escape Diamond pole that my hubby built. I can dance around the pole and look pretty or I can engage you, the person watching into my world of actions and thoughts.

My Example: Dream Mint moves slowly around the diamond pole pressing her warm, moist curves against the cool gems, feeling the diamond press against her naked skin as her eyes focus on the handsome Dhamieon Demar

So again my emote is drawing you into my thoughts whereas not only do you see me dancing but now you know my feelings and actions, what my body is doing and my connection to you.

How Do you emote:
Later, in another post I will give more details on this but right now I will show you the basics

1. On second life in order to emote you must, and I repeat, you must begin each emote with /me or /me's. Why you ask? It's simple when you begin you emote this way you get rid of the colon that is between your name and your words. So instead of Dream Mint: slowly.... if you type /me Dream Mint then your phrase will show up as Dream Mint slowly. It just looks better when you want to emote.

2.Be as descriptive as possible. Descriptive words paint a better picture in the mind of the reader.

3. Sometimes you have to let go and have fun. emoting is not only for dancing but in all forms of roleplay. I have emoted passing out, throwing balls at friends, sticking out my tongue and of course giving the famous bird or one finger salute. So don't think emoting is just for dancers, emoting is for everyone.

Again, in another post I will explore emoting more but for now give it a try and see how much more your Second Life will open up by using emotes
